For Her Royal Highness, Barr.Oluyemi Bajowa, the Regent of Ayeka Kingdom, it is yet another special opportunity to roll out drums in appreciation of God’s faithfulness on the grand occasion of her birthday celebration. The amiable Regent, wife of Prince (Dr) Gen. Olu Bajowa, the Jagunmolu of Ikaleland and Ojagbulegun from the source, marks her birthday anniversary on the 16th March and it has always been a medium of thanksgiving to God for His goodness over the celebrant all year round
.
The first female Regent in Ikaleland is an accomplished Lawyer who studied Law abroad and capped it with a Masters Degree in International Law and World Economy after she was called to Bar in Nigeria.
It will be recalled that Princess Barr. Oluyemi Bajowa, who married into Royalty of the Rebuja Lubokun Dynasty of Igbotako Osooro assumed the stool of ” Adele Oba” Ayeka following the demise of her father , Oba Ayelomi, Lumure Lulaire, the Second. Her Regency which was a welcome development in Ayeka Kingdom and which was the collective resolve of traditional stakeholders of the kingdom has opened the town to a long list of commendable and noble developments.
HRH. Oluyemi Bajowa has shown a track record of admirable indices of growth visible in Ayeka Kingdom, confirming the time tested mantra of ‘ what a man can do , a woman can do better.’
She appears like an Amazon who is in a hurry to put her Kingdom on the global map; to her credit, Ayeka today boasts of a standard Radio station that can compete with its peers, helping to bridge the communication gap while disseminating information on the go, serving the people of Ondo South and beyond.
The Regent of Ayeka’s commitment to enhancing a safe and secure community led to the official registration of Lumure Hunters Association, which she officially commissioned with fanfare at the palace of Lumure as she has sustained the Association with logistics and fund all towards stimulating community policing in Ayeka .
The achievement of ‘ Adele Oba Oluyemi Bajowa’ will not be complete without making mention of her establishment of ‘ Oja Oba Lumure ‘ an expression of her zeal for the commercial growth of Ayeka land. Beyond the promotion of community market structure in Ayeka, the Regent has supported the women folk with a thrift system which allows market men and women to have access to credit facilities in order to buoy commercial activities.
In the course of her Regency, she has facilitated World Bank Rehabilitation of the gully erosion in Ayeka, which was until the Rehabilitation process an eyesore in the community.
Regent Oluyemi Bajowa personally supported the fencing of the traditional Ugboro Heritage , an indication of her avowed interest and support for the tradition of her forefathers.
