WHO IS Dr. DARE OWOTOMOBI and what is his take on the political development in the home front, Nigeria?
I am Ambassador Dr Dare Owotomobi,FCPA, the Global Chairman ,Bola Ahmed Tinubu Solidarity Vanguards, Nigeria & Diaspora.
Democracy is gradually maturing despite all odds and challenges here and there. It is seems we are getting there, even though ,we are still learning the rope as toddlers after a prolonged military incursion into the nation’s politics, but we are learning fast and not doing badly at all when compared to the advanced nations of the world where we borrowed the Democratic process from.
AS A PATRIOTIC NIGERIAN, which zone do you sincerely believe should produce the next President, Federal Republic of Nigeria?
This question has a double edged sword answer. One, in the interest of faireness and equity, we need to lobby, canvass, mobilize and convince our Northern brothers to allow for a power shift to the south.
Here in the South, it depends whether you’re a Progressive or a Conservative,. If it is for Conservative, well, it will be a reasoning like PDP had Olusegun Obasanjo from SW, Goodluck Jonathan from SS, and now , probably it remains SE . So, if Southeast want presidency, they should go and try the PDP where they sow but for the Progressives as represented by my own political party, the Ruling APC, it is clearly the Southwest as power is not served alacarte . The Southwest progressives were in the opposition and worked untiredly to merit it .Hence in my own party APC, it is the Southwest that should produce the next President come 2023. Politics is about permutations, consultations, negotiations, mobilization and lobbying . Whereas, in all these areas, the Southwest had sacrificed and pay their due and are ready for a pay back in the progressive fold where they sow.
WHAT IS BATS- Vanguard about?
Bola Ahmed Tinubu Solidarity Vanguard (BATS-V) is a socio political organization that identifies the values, ideal, ideas and ideology of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, thereby showing Solidarity with him by creating a Vanguard across the thirty states of the federation and FCT, Abuja and even across the Globe, I mean in any Country you can find a Nigerian living, mobilizing funds, human resources to encourage and persuade him, Asiwaju to come out and use his naturally endowed talent that made Lagos state the fourth Economy in the whole of Afican for Nigeria ; so that a template can finally be set for our country Nigeria so that we can overtake America and the emerging technological hub, China.
SIR, WHAT DO THINK Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) will do differently as Nigerian President?
Thank you Steve. Yes, what I think that His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu can do differently as a President is evidently clear as to what he did differently in Lagos that remained unsurpassed which has kept Lagos going till date. There are lots of hidden talents both young ,middle age and old waiting to be tapped and believe me sincerely Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a talent hunter. He would mine these talents, furnish them and make them available for Nigeria and the world would see those hidden talents that are left untapped in Nigeria.
Asiwaju is not only a financial expert but an economy guru who knows how to midwife this country to a super Economy if given the chance. This he had done before as a Governor, he would do it again as a president. The country will experience a commendable turn around under the Tinubu Presidency because cerebrally , he has what it takes to restructure the Nigerian political and economic landscape and that is why we at BATS- Vanguard and all people of good conscience in Nigeria should root for his presidency.
For example, If you look at the security architecture of Lagos State , it was not like Lagos of the 70s, 80s and 90s where you cannot sleep with your eyes closed. The governnment of Bola Ahmed Tinubu way back in Lagos reached out to stakeholders and established structures that corrected the security anomaly in Lagos.
How about power? I mean Electric power supply, you would recollect how he vested through innovations the first IPP in Lagos. You can see the impact of corporate governance under Tinubu in Lagos . You get what I am saying? Le t us just give Asiwaju a chance to improve this country and I can tell you , we will all be the better for it.
ARE YOU COMFORTABLE
with the security situation at home?
No, no , not at all! We are yet to get it right in this aspect. I mean security wise. PMB is doing his best, but the best he is giving this country in the area of security at this material time requires some obvious complement.
Everywhere there is fear! The security challenge is too much. There is a palpable feeling of insecurity across the country and it’s not boding well for economic development. I think we need a paradigm shift in our approach to tackling homeland security in Nigeria .
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU have for governnment as security threat continues to confront the nation?
My sincere advice is that the State Governors who are the Chief security officers in their various states need to be more proactively involved in the security matters of governance. The security architecture of the country right now is so much embarrassingly porous, so government at the state levels must be more actively innvolved in community policing and if need be, they should allow the vigilante corps to handle the bandits’ incursion into the states . More importantly, we should stop decorating these evil doers with good names such as describing them as unknown gunmen what have you. Bandits should all be declared as terrorists and both the central and the state governments should maintain a synergy on this matter while our Royal fathers and Local Government Council Chairmen that are close to the people ,the of the grassroots should be funded adequately and mobilized for them to tackle security challenges within their domains.

That’s an interesting question. Prof (Dr) Olafioye Salewa is our Diaspora DG, he is based in the United States and he is a United Nations Consultant, while Dr Abiola Oshodi doubled as our Diaspora Secretary and Regional Director Canada. Prof Kayode Adegbola Familoni is our Regional Director, USA, Chief Wale Kalejaye in UK is our Deputy Diaspora DG. Mrs Bola Obanya in New York is our Diaspora Woman Leader. Our Diaspora Chief Strategist is Amb. Chief Titus Amado. Prof Tokunbo Onabanjo is our Chairman,BATS-V internet Radio Vision, while Chief Segun Ajibulu is our Diaspora PRO and we have coordinators in all the fifty states of America, 8 Administrative and provinces in Canada,and the countries across the continent apart from all the states in Nigeria and FCT, Abuja. Ours is an assemblage of former Governors, Deputy Governors, Senators,Ministers House of Reps members, Cooperate world Business Executive, Commissioners,Legislators , Religion leaders,Traditional leaders , Political leaders,Opinion leaders and Academics , Market women, students’ organisation and artisans.
