Chief (Dr.) Olayiwola Akinbode Installed as Asiwaju Akingbayi of Owu Kingdom.
It was a colorful gathering of the elite class both within Nigeria and The Diaspora in Owu Kingdom on Friday, October 25th , 2024 as Chief (Dr.) Olayiwola Akinbode, the Aare Bobaseye of Ikale Land, Bobagunwa of Odeda, and Sarumi of Itoko Egba, was formally installed as the Asiwaju Akingbayi of Owu Kingdom .
The chieftaincy rites began early Friday at the residence of Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo in Ita Eko, also known as Oju Ogun.
Following traditional customs, Chief Obasanjo led prayers for the new chief, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding and promoting the values of Owu Kingdom. The atmosphere was enriched with traditional songs and drumming, celebrating the significance of the occasion.
After the prayers, His Royal Majesty Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola officiated the presentation of certificates to the newly installed chiefs.
The palace was filled with dignitaries from around the world, reflecting the event’s prominence.
The celebration continued at Providence Event Centre, where a lavish reception featured an array of food and drinks. Renowned Juju gospel artist Beaular Singer performed, providing entertainment that resonated with the joyous spirit of the day.
