The remains of Late Madam Alice Olabowale Aiyerin has been laid to rest at her country home, Ilutitun in Ondo South.

The burial of the mother of the former Chairman, Okitipupa Local government, Hon. Segun Aiyerin, started on Thursday, 21st March, 2023 with a Christian wake at her Igo Aduwo residence, Ilutitun as presided over by priests of the Ebenezer Cathedral , Ilutitun, who were led by The Dean of The Cathedral, Ven. Akinboyo.

Earlier on Thursday, the deceased was taken in a motorcade from Bell Funeral Home , Akure and was led in the company of fleet of exotic vehicles to Ilutitun , which was followed by the Christian wake.

The Christian wake featured song ministration by the Choir of Ebenezer Cathedral, wake homily and testimonies by family members and well wishers.

In his personal testimony , Pastor Segun Aiyerin described his mother as a giver and a lover of all as well as a strong pillar of community development, noting that even when her father didn’t support her education, she was positively instrumental to the educational pursuit of all her children, stressing that his mother was an amazon and a mother he would like to have over and over again.

Segun Aiyerin noted that he is grateful to God that his mother benefitted from the care of her children and grandchildren at old age as she traveled to US and UK and other foreign countries in her life time to celebrate with her children and enjoy a befitting respite.

On Friday, the 22nd March, Mama Aiyerin’s remains arrived at The Ebenezer Cathedral at 11 in the morning for funeral service, as her church arrival was anchored by the Pall bearers of The Bell Funeral Home who danced and celebrated the deceased as they firmly rested her on their shoulder in her glistening coffin to the church with colorful pageantry .

In his funeral sermon,The Lord Bishop of The Diocese on The Coast, Rt. Revd. Oluseyi Pirisola noted that the deceased lived a good Christian life and was known all through her life as a parishioner who was dedicated to service in The House of God. He charged the living to be steadfast in God’s work , emphasizing that the level of our steadfastness is a reflection of our preparation for the hereafter.

The service featured thanksgiving by the children of Mama Aiyerin who present ed an audio mixer and drum set to the Cathedral.

The reception and entertainment of guests held at the field of Comprehensive High School, Ilutitun after the lowering of the remains of the deceased at her son, Segun Aiyerin’s residence, with the clergy conducting the rites of dust to dust.

Sir Demola Suzy and his musical band provided exciting lyrics which electrified the atmosphere and made the children of the deceased alongside their guests to dance their heart out , reflecting their pleasant gratitude to God over the life and time of Late Madam Olabowale Aiyerin

While speaking with the polity.net on the fringe of the reception, Pastor Segun Aiyerin noted that he would miss his mother, stressing that she is a mother indeed, a giver, a lover of good things and a very strong Christian of the prayer warrior breed. He said his mother made life worth living not just for her children but also for relatives and neighbors, adding that no one who came across his mother that will not miss her genuine sense of generosity.

Among the guests who graced the event were representatives of Ondo State Governor, Gov. Aiyedatiwa, led by Hon. Igbasan, Pastor and Mrs. Femi Agagu, Hon. Dr. Olu Olakunde, Hon. Mathew Oyerinmade ( Mato); Hon. Gboluga Ikengboju, Former Ondo State Deputy Governor and PDP Guber Aspirant Hon. Alfred Agboola Ajayi, Hon. Olabimimtan; Ondo PDP Governorship Aspirant, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye ( OBA), Hon.
