Dayo Ayebo carpets government over insensitivity on black out in Ikale Land.- Steve Ovirih.

The President of Ikale world Congress (IWC), a pan Ikale socio cultural organization in the Diaspora, Chief Dayo Ayebo has condemned what he termed government insensitivity to the plight of his people in Ikale Land. In a media chat with thepolity.net, the Philadelphia based gentleman and Ikale chief said it is regrettable that while Ikale Land can proudly boast of two expansive phases of power plant, their benefits as hosting community to the Omotosho power plant is to be cut off from the national electricity grid, an awful development spanning almost eleyen years. He stressed that government indifference becomes obvious when all they do had been contribution that is best termed mere cosmetic panacea while the people of Ikale communities wallow in abject black out year in year out. “We are blessed to host two power generation plants: Omotosho power plant phase 1 with about 335MW and phase 2 with about 5000MW, contributing to the national grid, yet we the host communities have been put in total black out .
” I believe that this unfortunate scenario playing out is against The Olusegun Obasanjo administration’s objective of building the power plant in 2006.
“This is one case of collosal failure on the part of our government both in the state and the Federal Government.
” What it takes government is to give a sincere instruction to BEDC to reconnect us and if they don’t obey, government still has the right to sanction them because there are lines of performance on the license agreement,” Chief Ayebo maintained.

While lamenting the poor level of development in Ikale Land, Chief Dayo Ayebo said Ikale communities are yearning for both state and federal government presence beyond the window dressing projects that
Paled into insignificance when compared with the high level of development in the other senatorial districts. He challenged rich Ikale sons and daughters to come home and develop their land , noting that one still has to return home no matter the length of years spent sojourning away from home.
The President of Ikale World Congress in The United States of America said the US based organization has become United and Ikales in the USA enjoy robust relationship with one another. While thanking the members of the IWC executive for their mutual cooperation and the Advisory board for their counsel which has made the organization to move forward, Chief Ayebo assured that the next convention of IWC shall come up in August 2020 in the East Coast of the United States.
