Regent Oluyemi Bajowa bags outstanding monarch of the year award, advises media on balance reportage as Ondo Guber poll approaches.

The Regent of Ayeka Kingdom in Okitipupa Local Government, Princess Barr. Oluyemi Bajowa has harped on the need for the media to ensure a balance reportage of activities before, during and after the Governorship election in Ondo State. She noted that the fourth estate of the realm plays a pivotal role in nation building as gate keepers of information , hence the need to ensure that their news report as they will cover the Ondo Guber poll is not unnecessarily sensationalised and does a fair presentation of activities in the polity in the course of the poll.
Regent Bajowa gave this advice in Akure, the Ondo State capital during the ‘ Chronicle Magazine’s 7th Annual Anniversary/Lecture and Award series’ where she bagged the honour of The Best Monarch of the Year.
The Chronicle Magazine is an award winning Magazine which celebrated its seventh year anniversary with presentation of recognition awards to Ondo State dignitaries among which the Regent of Ayeka was one.
The event which held at Sunbeth Hotel , Akure, had in attendance high worth dignitaries such as the Olumoru of Imoru Land, His Royal Highness, Oba Rotimi Obamuwagun; Chief Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN), Hon.Gbegudu Ololade, Member House of Assembly; Prince Babatunde Ayeyowa, the Liha of Ayeka, High Chief Adebanjo Ayelomi who led other Ayeka Kingdom High Chiefs to the event , and represented the Regent of Ayeka at the event.
While reading her acceptance speech after being conferred with the prestigious Outstanding Monarch of the Year Award, Regent Bajowa, ably represented by High Chief (Prince ) Adebanjo Ayelomi, the Luwoye of Ayekaland, congratulated the Publisher and management of The Chronicle Magazine on the 7th year anniversary of the media organization. She expressed delight over the management of Chronicle’s decision to bestow her such huge honour, noting that it feels good to know that some media outfit have beamed their light on her modest stride since she has assumed the stool as the Regent of Ayeka Kingdom. ” I am earnestly grateful for the recognition given to me for the modest contributions , I have, by the grace of God , made towards the growth and development of my community.
“In the course of my Regency, I promised to uphold the dignity of royalty and improve on the high standards of leadership and administration set by my father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Fredrick Bode Ayelomi of blessed memory, the Lumure of Ayeka Kingdom,” Princess Bajowa added.
Princess Bajowa noted that with the challenges imposed by COVID-19, which has ravaged the world lately, and considering the fast approaching gubernatorial election in Ondo State, media practitioners should hold fast to the time tested ethics of the profession which include truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity , impartiality, fairness and public accountability.
In a related development, Prince Dr (Gen) Olu Bajowa, OFR, Jagunmolu of Ikale Land and Ojagbulegun of the source, has congratulated Princess Bajowa on her recognition as the Outstanding Monarch of the year by The Chronicle Magazine. Gen. A new dawn has break in Ayeka and the kingdom is matching to greater heights under your Regency,” Chief Adegboyega Adeolu added.
