Prof. Dayo Faduyile, 15 others get Ondo State Media award .

– Steve Ovirih.

Dr. Ahmad , the Chairman of the Day at the Ondo State Media awards , year 2020 edition , has condemned the EndSARS Protest which rocked Nigeria in October, describing it as an ill wind which blew no Goodwill. Dr. Ahmad , who is also a professional town planner said while it was acceptable to air grievances , the EndSARS Protest brought in its wake massive destruction and looting, stressing that no protest is worth vandalizing public facilities , which collectively belong to the general public.

Dr. Ahmad gave this view on Sunday at the Royal Bird event hall, Alagba Akure, venue of the Ondo State Media awards 2020.

The media awards from the Stable of ‘ Impact African magazine’ is the 10th of its kind in a row. According to the organizer , Mr. Yinka Richards , the awards are given to Nigerians who have made indelible marks in the sand of time in their respective career. Richards noted that critical assessment and adequate screening are carried out on award nominees every year with input from stakeholders before the final selection is made. While congratulating the awardees , he charged them to continue to blaze the trail in their respective career from which they have been able to stand out and unique.

A major highlight of the event was the reading of the citation of the awardees and presentation of plaque .

Prof. Adedayo Francis Faduyile’s invitation to the dais attracted loud ovation as friends and well wishers from Ikale Land offered cheers and Ikale folk songs to embellish the presentation of award to the Prince of Abodi, the cradle of Ikale Land.

It will be recalled that Prof. Francis Faduyile who is the immediate past President of Nigeria Medical Association ( NMA) was an aspirant for the Governorship seat of Ondo State under the PDF platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State; an ambition he dropped having chosen to work for the success of the second term bid of the incumbent, Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Prof. Faduyile, after he was decorated as an awardee, supported Impact Magazine with a fifty thousand naira financial assistance. This also drew cheers and applause from the dignitaries at the event.

The Special Guest of honour at the event and Ondo State Deputy Governor-elect, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa congratulated both the organizer and the awardees . Aiyedatiwa said the organizer has shown resilience and commitment having hosted the media award for ten unbroken years. He charged the awardees to see the the event as a special recognition of their unique strides , requesting them to continue to contribute to humanity in their diverse career. Hon
Aiyedatiwa supported Impact Magazine with two hundred thousand naira.

Prof. Faduyile who spoke with thepolity.net on the sidelines of the event said the organizer had reached out to him, intimating him about the award and all he simply did was to thank him for recognising his humble and modest stride as an academic and a medical doctor.

Other awardees at the media award were: Ade Oyedeji, Yinka Osho, Ademulegun Royal Trust, Akinola Ojo and Olayinka Michael.

Also among the awardees were Bankole Philips, Fransisca Onyinye Ogunlade, Temidayo Ani Masuan, Olaseni Ibitoye, Nuel Ola Eleyinmi, Prince Yisa Adelanke Bakare and Blessing Akinlosotu.

The rest were Sola Ilesanmi, Adeola Shitu and Fakunle Samuel.

Among the dignitaries at the event were the Ondo State Deputy Governor- elect, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Hon Sola Omole, Chairman Ondo State House of Assembly Committee on Information; Dr. A. S Ahmad, Prince and Mrs. Adeyefa and Eng. Akinnuoye.
