– Steve Ovirih.

Former National President, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Prof. Dayo Faduyile has urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the progress and success of the Nigerian project, rather than express their angst and frustration over the state of the nation even as he noted that the Nigerian project is a work in progress. He expressed this view in an exclusive chat with thepolity.net as Nigeria celebrates 61st Independence anniversary.

The Ondo South All Progressives Congress stalwart, while congratulating Nigeria over the milestone of 61 said as far the country is concerned there is enough room for gratitude to God Almighty.

The Prince of Abodi of Ikaleland in the exclusive chat said God has been faithful to Nigeria and to reciprocate God’s faithfulness, we all owe it a duty to concertedly ensure the success of the Nigerian project beyond the rhetorics of both the leaders and the followers.

Faduyile said Nigeria has come a long way spanning six decades and one year and in the course of her growth , the nation has experienced a whole lot of challenges that could have collapsed her structure but for the resilience of Nigerians and the grace of God upon the nation.

Faduyile , who was the Deputy Director General of the Campaign Council of Gov. Akeredolu for second term expressed optimism about the socio economic and political development of Nigeria, stressing that Nigeria is gradually pulling out of the economic challenges which was induced by recession and the Covid 19 challenges that almost paralysed the nation’s economy.

On the challenges of the regional activists longing for secession, Faduyile said they were yet to understand the fact that there is need to harp more on the mantra of unity in diversity, adding that the nation stands to benefit more from remaining a cohesive and indivisible entity.

The Professor of Pathology and Forensic Medicine saluted the restructuralist stand point of the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu and appreciated his commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property of the people of Ondo State through the efforts of the Security Network codenamed ‘Amotekun’. He said Governor Akeredolu has continued to stand shoulder high in his drive for providing the Amotekun corps all the necessary logistics in their bid to consolidate on Community policing across Ondo State.
