Mohbad: Demands for justice heighten, DSS joins probe as youths protest

Investigation into the death of music star Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (a.k.a Mohbad) took a fresh dimension yesterday as the Lagos State governor and other prominent personalities waded into the matter, demanding that justice be served and the issue not swept under the carpet.

Indeed, the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, yesterday, said the Department of State Services (DSS) have joined the investigation into the death of music star Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (a.k.a Mohbad).

The governor said the intention was to boost and widen the dragnet with inter-agency collaboration and use of best technology to unearth the truth.

Sanwo-Olu had earlier directed the police in the state to launch a major investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the young star.

Consequently, the police on Monday, inaugurated a 19-man panel to unravel the mystery of the musician’s death.  But, in a statement by the Commissioner of Information & Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, the governor widened the investigation by inviting the DSS to assist in the quest to get justice for the youngster, his family and teeming fans.

Sanwo-Olu noted the developments that have followed the death of music star, and pleaded with all those who may have vital information that may assist the investigation process to avail such to the probe team.

Besides, Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, has promised that the state will assist the family in taking care of the child of the late singer.

He spoke during a condolence visit to the mother of the deceased music star. Hamzat assured Mohbad’s family that Justice would be done on this matter.
