APC NWC members abandon Adamu over rejection of NASS principal officers

Three members of the national working committee (NWC) yesterday dissociated themselves from the decision by the national chairman of the party, Sen Abdullahi Adamu to distanced the party from the selection of the principal officers of the national Assembly.
The three NWC members who spoke on conditions of anonymity maintained that the emergence of leaders of the two chambers of National Assembly is with the blessing of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The party chieftains pointed that during the parley between members of the NWC and the Progressives Governors forum (PGF), Adamu was asked to reach out to the leadership of the National Assembly and resolve the matter amicably.
The Governors also cautioned Adamu to be wary of antagonising salient issues relating to the policy direction of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration.
“The Governors were not happy at all over his utterances because they felt Adamu’s posture covey’s the impression that he is not willing to work harmoniously with President Asiwaju as he repeatedly keep disputing decisions made with his inputs. There is no way principal officers would be selected without the buy in of the President,” one of the NWC members said.
They thereby distanced themselves and the NWC from such actions that clearly undermine the smooth take off of the APC Federal Government under the leadership of President Asiwaju and call on the National Chairman to desist from such action.
