Ayede Ogbese celebrates exit of Monarch as Alayede of Ayede Ogbese, Oba Oluyede is buried amidst pomp and pageantry.

When Kings die, even the galaxies indicate their exit and the sky is filled with sign of a great loss. Thus, the exit to the pantheon of the gods of Oba Alayeluwa, Alayede of Ayede Ogbese, Oba Ajibola Oluyede , though a painful phenomenon , as no community would wish to lose such a Philanthropist royalty, his burial generated a buzz that had all the frills and thrills of celebrating the life and time of an elite who had left behind golden mark in the sand of time.
Gov. Lucky Oriire-Orimisan Aiyedatiwa , Ondo State Chief Executive led the State Exco to the burial of the monarch , which held at Ayede Ogbese , in Akure North Local Government Area.
The Ondo State Governor paid condolence visit to the deceased Monarch’s wife , Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo- Oluyede at The Royal Ranch, Ayede Ogbese where she was welcomed by Dr. Olufunto Oluyede- Campbell and Prince Adetunbi Oluyede alongside other family members and associates.
The burial event for Oba Oluyede which started on Friday, 9th August peaked with a Thanksgiving service on Sunday, 18th August, 2024. Among the events which were lined up in the course of the weeklong burial of the revered monarch were a farewell novelty march which was flagged off by Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Saka Yusuf- Ogunleye as attractive Prizes were presented to winners. Also, a Special Valedictory Court Session was held in the honour of the deceased , who in his life time was an accomplished legal luminary. The Valedictory service held at the Ondo State High Court of Justice, Akure Judicial Division.
There was also Service of Song and ‘ Oba awon Oba Concert.’ In between, different activities held both at Ayede Ogbese and Akure to mark the epochal burial of Alayede of Ayede Ogbese.
At the grand finale of the burial of the monarch on August 17th, several dignitaries across Ondo state and beyond were on ground to identify with the people of Ayede Ogbese and the children of late Oba Oluyede. The Amapetu of Mahin, HRM Oba Segun Williams Akinyomi led other traditional rulers from Ilaje Local Govt as they bade Oba Oluyede farewell. It will be recalled that the wife of Oba Oluyede, Olori Olufunmilayo Oluyede, one time National Vice President , Nigeria Bar Association is from Mahin in Ilaje Local Govt
While speaking with thepolity . net on the fringe of the colorful reception, Prince Adetunmbi Oluyede, son to the deceased monarch described his father as a generous personality who was dedicated to the growth of humanity even as he showed selfless commitment to God’s work. He maintained that his father’s stride is worthy of emulation and he will walk the path of impacting lives for the better as that will serve well the purpose of keeping alive his father’s memory. In her own reaction , the daughter of Oba Oluyede, Princess Dr. Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell said her father was a hardworking person to the core and was always lending helping hand to people in his life time. She noted that her dad brought her children up in the ways of The Lord and they are all grateful to God to have been sired by their darling father. In their separate chat with thepolity.net, Amapetu Mahin, Oba Segun Akinyomi and the Oyenogho of Mahin Kingdom, High Chief Martin Oyenowo noted that the deceased monarch of Ayede Ogbese was a huge pillar of community development who will be missed by his subjects and the good people of Ondo State.
The reception , a high octane affair had the notable maestro Mike Abdul on the band stand, dishing out danceable lyrics to serenade the event, while there was a rich supply of Cultural dance by the Ilaje Cultural band of Ondo State Cultural Troupe.
After the interment of Oba Oluyede at The Royal Mausoleum in Ayede Ogbese, Dr.Olufunto Oluyede – Campbell , daughter of Oba Oluyede was installed as the Regent of Ayede Ogbese.
