Claudius Akindele’s children give back to their root.
The pupils of The Apostolic Primary School, Lebi in Okitipupa Local Government, Ondo South Senatorial District will relive the epoch visit of the Akindeles to the school on Thursday, the 18th November, 2021.
The children of Late Pa Claudius Akindele, a prominent Ikale stakeholder in his life time, in their bid to appreciate God’s effort and grace over their lives decided to give back to their cradle, their root and the primary school which moulded them in their journey to academic excellence.
The children of Baba Claudius Akindele who all attended The Apostolic Primary School, Lebi have all become successful personalities doing the revered Akindele household name proud in their respective endeavours both in Nigeria and in The Diaspora. Mrs. Toyin Okeowo (nee Akindele) who is based in Dallas, Texas, United States of America organised the programme on behalf of herself and her siblings in the fond memory of their father, Late Pa Claudius Akindele. She could not make the event due to her tight schedule.
Erelu Modupe Akindele Martins who represented Baba Akindele’s children at the presentation of the educational materials as ‘give away benefits’ for the pupils of The Apostolic Primary School, Lebi, described the benefits as a means of alleviating the economic challenges of the parents of the pupils of the school.
While speaking to the pupils and dignitaries present at the event, Erelu Modupe Akindele Martins noted that the bags and notebooks are presented to the recipients onbehalf of the children of Pa Claudius Adeduro Akindele and Mama Modeola Akindele. She added that they were taught by the best of teachers in their primary school at The Apostolic Primary School, Lebi and it was in the school that their moulding into responsible members of the society begun.
The one time Deputy Governorship Candidate in Ondo State noted that the presentation is their humble way of giving back to the society so that some pupils whose parents have yet to get them these materials due to economic pressure can feel the burden been lifted off their shoulder.
Erelu Akindele Martins said the gesture is done in memory of their father who was a strict disciplinarian and who never trifled with the education of his children. She charged the pupils to concentrate on their studies and not to keep bad companies that corrupt good moral standard.
In his remark, the Acting Area Education Officer ( AEO), Okitipupa Area , Mr. Tajudeen Ajiboye thanked the donors for looking back and remembering their primary school. He noted that some people forget their root as soon as they make it in life but the step taken by the donors make them cut across as grateful people who are not cut off from their past. While thanking them for the support given to the pupils of the school, Mr. Ajiboye called on others whom God has supported in the Society to give back to their alma mater for posterity to remember them.
Olori Modeola Akindele presented the first two beneficiaries the school bags and notebooks. Over hundred bags were given away as gifts to the learners while note books ranging between 1o to 12 books were also presented to at least one hundred pupils of the school. In addition , twenty indigent students were given new school uniforms , shoes and school sucks. Scholarship offers were also announced for indigent students.
Among the guests who witnessed the presentation were Mr. Tajudeen Ajiboye ( AEO) Okitipupa Area Office, Chief Mrs. Modeola Akindele (Mama Mode), Erelu Modupe Akindele Martins, Dr. Joseph Monehin and Mrs. Mary Agbede, the Head Teacher, The Apostolic Primary School, Lebi Okitipupa.
