Eclampsia not spiritual attack, says Faduyile… urges pregnant women to visit hospital .

Pregnant mothers have been advised to be conscious of their health during the pregnancy period, as pregnancy is a special blessing to womanhood by God.
Giving this advice was Prof. Dayo Faduyile,OON, Special Adviser on Health to Ondo State Governor.
While noting that pregnancy is a blessing, Prof. Faduyile equally noted that Eclampsia is a clug in the child birth cycle, noting that it is one of the leading causes of maternal deaths in Nigeria and Ondo State
Going further , Faduyile noted that it is a condition of convulsion and high blood pressure during pregnancy or shortly after childbirth.
Prof. Faduyile said all pregnant women are at risk of suffering from eclampsia , especially first pregnancy and those with twins, triplets or more . The Medical expert says eclampsia is not a spiritual attack as some people are disposed to believe, urging pregnant women to see their Doctor/ Midwife as early as in the first trimester of their pregnancy .
While insisting that once a woman discovers she has taken in, she should visit the hospital regularly and should not be self willed to medical instructions, Prof. Faduyile said enclampsia’s warning signals are high blood pressure , protein in urine , severe headaches, blurry vision , vomiting as well as the swelling of the hands, feet and face.
In a weekly health release from the Office of the Special Adviser on Health to Ondo State Governor, a copy of which was obtained by thepolity.net , Prof. Faduyile cautioned that convulsions can damage vital organs like brain , kidneys and liver, even as he assured that medical challenges such as convulsion in pregnancy have cure if the pregnant woman who convulses will not hesitate to visit the hospital as promptly as she observes any of the warning signs.
