Ekiti Police Command makes breakthrough with crime busting, parades suspects.

By Steve Ovirih.

The Ekiti State police command has paraded some crime suspects terrorizing the state in recent time.

At a press briefing held on Friday 16th August, DSP Sunday Abutu, who represented Ekiti state Police Commissioner, CP Akinwale Adeniran, noted that the last two months have been quite challenging as criminal elements have devised new methods of perpetrating criminal acts such as using motorcycles to rob and attack innocent targets , especially Point of sales ( POS) operators with guns while causing fatalities as they ply their criminal trade.

Abutu noted that the marching order to The State Special Tactical Units by CP Adeniran to fish out the criminals has yielded results with the massive manhunt for the criminals across the nooks and crannies of the state.

He said it is a delightful development as most of the suspects on the command’s watchlist have been arrested and are displayed in the course of the press briefing.

DSP Sunday Abutu added that three persons were arrested for conspiracy , armed robbery and murder of a 56 year old woman , one Adeyemi Aina , who was attacked at Fabian junction NTA Road Ado Ekiti on the 6th July ,2024, while six others were equally arrested for conspiracy and armed robbery. He assured the general public that the criminal suspects will be charged to court where they will be subjected to a competent trial.

The Command calls for further cooperation of the good people of Ekiti state, while charging them to continue to be law abiding.
