Ese-Odo HOLGA, Oluronke Olufunmi charges parents on value re-orientation, celebrates with children at Igbekebo on Children’s Day.

The Head of Local Government Administration ( HOLGA) Ese-Odo Local Government Council, Mrs. Olufunmi Abiodun Oluronke has congratulated Nigerian children on the occasion of the 2024 Children’s Day celebration. The theme of the 2024 Children’s Day Celebration at the Local Government was
‘Proper Parenting for value re- orientation and National Consciousness.’
In her goodwill address, the Acting Chairman of Ese-Odo Local government, Mrs. Olufunmi noted that World Children’s Day was first established in 1954, adding that the purpose of the day is to promote international togetherness and awareness amongst children worldwide and improving children welfare.
” It is a day that reminds us of the sheer joy, wonder and potentials the children bring to our lives.
“Children’s Day Celebration holds special place in our hearts because we all have children. It is a day that raises awareness about the importance of education, health and the protection of children from violent exploitation,” Mrs. Olufunmi stressed.
The Ese-Odo HOLGA advised parents to take proper care of their children and should embrace reorientation in the way they relate with their kids so that proper upkeep is enhanced and they should ensure these children go to school without distractions.
The Celebration featured Match parade by schools in the Local Government Area; among them were Methodist Primary School Igbekebo, St.Francis RCM Primary school, Igbekebo, Shining star Primary school and others in the Primary school category. In the secondary school category, schools across the area participated in the Match past.
In the same vein, the Celebration also featured traditional dance exhibition by students across schools.
In an exclusive chat with thepolity.net, Education Secretary Ese-Odo, Hon. Mrs. Grace Ogunji saluted the Acting Council Chair for the success of the 2024 Children’s Day, noting that for some time now the celebration has not been held in the Council area. She noted that the children were happy as they have been given the opportunity to celebrate like their peers across the state. She encouraged parents to show interest in the education of their wards.
Also speaking with thepolity.net , the PTA Chairman Ese-Odo, Hon. Anthony Rasak said celebrating our children is noteworthy, adding that parents should realize that the success of these children is the success of the nation.
In his own view, the Director of Social Development, Ese-Odo Local government, Mr. Jackson Ola Ikuejamoye said the council under Mrs. Olufunmi is proactive and has been supporting positive development in the area. Mr.Ikuejamoye described the 2024 Children’s Day Celebration at the council as a huge success and a stepping stone to more proactive action by the Head of the Local Government Administration.
In the Primary category, St. Francis Primary School, Igbekebo was announced winner of the Match Parade, while Community Secondary school, Igbekebo came first in the secondary school category.
The HOLGA, Mrs.Olufunmi while presenting them Trophy for their outstanding performance on the parade ground wished the children well in their academics.
In a related development, the Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine for girls aged 9 to 14 was projected during the Children’s Day Celebration at Igbekebo with Health workers canvassing cooperation so that the Vaccine will be taken seriously when Health workers move around to administer the Vaccine.
