The Federal Government has cautioned civil servants against nepotism, falsification of age, and other negative actions.
FG said corruption in civil service encompasses government officials’ behaviours and actions that involve a lack of accountability and unethical behaviours.
Chairman, the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), of the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (FMSTI), Stella Igwilo, said the ministry would interface with the members of the public to reduce the effect of corruption, by ensuring good governance for effective service delivery.
Igwilo said this in Abuja at a sensitisation workshop on achieving integrity and Zero Tolerance for Corruption at the Ministry.
She said, “in simple terms, corruption in civil service encompasses government officials’ behaviours and actions that involve lack of accountability and unethical behaviours. Corrupt practices include falsification of age, bribery, nepotism, embezzlement, influence peddling, abuse of one’s public office among others.”
