Ondo State Governor , Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN has promised to put smiles on the faces of Ondo State civil servants as the year runs to an end. The Governor noted that the state like others is facing economic crunch due to the adverse effect of coronavirus and economic down turn across the globe and noted that while he takes responsibility as a leader , his government will not owe workers a dime by the time his tenure will lapse. Gov. Akeredolu gave this indication on Monday, the 13th of December at The Dome International Event Center, Alagbaka Akure during the swearing – in ceremony of the newly appointed Commissioners , Special Advisers and Director General.
The swearing -in ceremony was a follow up of a thorough scrutiny and approval of the nominees by Ondo State House of Assembly.
The event had in attendance an array of prominent Ondo State top government functionaries among whom were the Ondo State First family, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the First Lady, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu- Akeredolu, the Deputy Gov. Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his wife, Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyeloogun, Ondo State Chief Judge, Justice Akintoroye, Ondo State SSG, Princess Barr. Oladunni Odu, Head of Service , Pastor John Adeyemo, Chief of Staff , Chief Ale, Ondo State APC Chairman , Engr. Ade Adetimehin, Sir Charles Titiloye, Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice , Members of the State House of Assembly , traditional rulers and a host of others.
The Commissioners all fourteen in number took their oath of office and pledged their allegiance to the State Governor , followed by the seven Special Advisers and the Director – General Project Monitoring and Implementation, Mr. Babajide Akeredolu.
Gov. Akeredolu advised the newly appointed cabinet members to show commitment to quality leadership , stressing that politics did not factor into the choice of selection of the new cabinet members. He added that his administration has been engaging members of the younger generation on whose shoulder the future of Ondo State lies. ” This administration has been engaging members of the younger generation on whose shoulder the future of the state stands. We will continue to engage the youths and only the fit and the proper will join us.
” We are committed to fulfilling our pledges to the people of Ondo State and we will be focused and will not be distracted or be moved by side talks of political detractors,” Gov. Akeredolu added.
While congratulating the new appointees, the Governor charged them to have a cordial working relationship with their Permanent Secretaries and other sorbordinates in the respective ministries they will be deployed.
While speaking with thepolity.net, on the sidelines of the event, one of the appointed Special Advisers, Prof. Adedayo Francis Faduyile, immediate past NMA President expressed his appreciation to Ondo State Governor for giving the appointees an opportunity to serve the good people of the Sunshine State.
