Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, has offered direct counsel to retired civil servants. He strongly advised them to focus on wise investment instead of taking on new financial responsibilities like marriage.
The governor shared this guidance during a meeting with a group of retirees in the state. He expressed concern about the financial security of pensioners after their active service years.
“For those of you who are retired, my advice is to manage your resources carefully,” Governor Radda was quoted saying. He specifically cautioned against the decision to marry a new wife, noting the significant costs involved.
His comments highlight the broader challenges faced by retirees. Many struggle with limited pensions and high costs of living, making financial planning critical for their well-being.
The governor emphasized that their savings should be channeled into sustainable ventures. This, he argued, would secure their future and reduce the risk of poverty in old age.
This advice forms part of the governor’s ongoing engagement on social and economic issues. It aims to promote practical financial decisions among the elderly population in the state.
