A body of Nigerians of Ikale extraction in The Diaspora, Ikale Security Observers (ISO) has expressed the need for their people at home to show more concern about the issue of security of lives and property in the Ikale axis of Ondo South Senatorial District. The body held a global zoom conference on Saturday, the 24th of July and Ikales both home and abroad joined the virtual conversation on security matters pertaining to Ikaleland.

The virtual security discourse was coordinated by the duo of Prof. Salewa Olafioye, Michigan based United Nations Ambassador and surgeon as well as the Atlanta Georgia based Engineer and IT expert, Prince Dokun Faduyile.

Oba Babatunde George Faduyile, the Abodi of Ikale Land urged all Ikale communities to mobilize their subjects towards the protection of lives and property. The prominent Ondo State Royal Father who spoke at the zoom session through his son and former NMA President, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, noted that the issue of security of lives and property in Ikale communities cannot be left in the hand of government alone as there is need for synergy between government and the people. While praising government for the establishment of Amotekun corp, Prof. Faduyile said all hands must be on deck in Ikaleland to ward off infiltrators and criminal elements.

Of note was the contribution of the Council Chairmen of both Okitipupa and Irele Local Government Areas, Hon. Igbekele Akinrinwa and Segun Ajimotokin. Hon Akinrinwa thanked the conveners of the virtual interface for showing concern about their homestead, stressing that security is a challenge that must be frontally confronted by all men of good conscience in the land so that the Ikale communities can enjoy economic development in the ambience of peace and tranquility.

In his own contribution, Hon. Ajimotokin called on all the lovers of the socio economic growth of Ode Irele to proffer solutions to security challenges that the Local Government has been experiencing lately, noting that the town has been incessantly invaded by armed robbers, the last invasion, he added had denied the town the presence of a community bank. He asked Government to provide adequate security personnel for the town as these criminal invasions have affected the economy of the town adversely.

Earlier in his opinion, Chief Ayebo, a participant noted with concern that the security challenge bedeviling the nation is beginning to have spiral effect into the hinterland , hence every concerned person must speak up and proffer a solution. He noted that the zoom meeting was convened to sensitive Ikale people on the importance of security , warning that except there is a collaborative effort, loopholes might be created for criminal infiltrators into the land.

The consensus opinion of those who joined the conversation online was that for the security of lives and property of the people of Ikale nation not to falter, there is need for a constant reappraisal of the security situation across Ikaleland , while the stakeholders should continue to work with the community policing structure on ground, stressing that once people see any strange development, they must not hesitate to draw the attention of security agencies available .
