Prof. Dayo Faduyile, OON, a medical expert in the field of Pathology and Forensic Medicine has charged Nigerians to strive not to allow challenges weigh them down and give them depression. He gave this indication in an exclusive chat with thepolity. net on Sunday, September 15th, 2024.

While fielding questions on health related discourse, Prof. Faduyile said life is supposed to be lived happily , while noting that challenges come and go and the best way to handle challenges is to see them as a passing phase. ” Life is supposed to be lived happily and that is the plain truth. I have always live by the saying never take life too seriously because none of us will come out of it alive.

“So, the most important thing is for us to be happy through life and eat a diet that is balanced. We should not eat heavily so that we don’t encourage obesity and we should eat only what our body wants.

” Exercise is a way of keeping the body hale and hearty and as a person , I indulge active and regular exercise as this help me to be fit while having the appropriate mind set to face each day as they come,” Prof. Faduyile stated.

The Chairman, Governing Council, Federal College of Education, FCE Kontagora maintained that regardless of whatever challenge or difficulty one goes through in life, one must try not to wear such challenge like a badge on the chest or allow such to twist the facial countenance as allowing such will deny one happiness. “We must know that happiness comes inherently from within. Of course , we have people with challenges who are still happy and this mindset makes it much easy for them to find a way out of their challenges while there are others who have less challenges but are overwhelmed with moodiness that brings depression.

” So, the advice is that let us encourage inherent happiness from within,” Prof. Faduyile added , stressing that no matter the toughness of the situation, we must strive not to allow depression to set in. “No matter the situation, we must have someone trustworthy enough to unwind and unbundle our mind to. Rather than crumple up in a spot while the situation steals your happiness, meet friends , interact and have a good relationship.

“Depression have horrible effect on the human health status as it leads to diabetes, general body pains, High blood pressure and many more. So we should try to stay healthy , have mutual interaction with people who generally make us happy and above all have good relationship with God.”

Prof. Faduyile equally indicated that if people feel they are overwhelmed by depression, which is ‘ happiness killer’ they should seek help in the hospital because depression makes its sufferers to cultivate suicide thoughts while for others it aggravates maniac conditions.

In the same vein, Prof. Faduyile extended his hearty felicitations to Muslim faithful across Nigeria over the Eid el Moulud celebration, seeking more fervent prayers for Nigeria as the faithful globally mark the Moulud celebration.
