Fresh security concerns are mounting in parts of Kano State following reported attacks across three communities in three consecutive days, with at least three people killed and the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rogo Local Government Area abducted.

The latest incident occurred at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday in Beli village, Rogo Local Government Area, where armed men reportedly invaded the community and opened fire. A local resident was killed, while some others were said to have sustained gunshot injuries.

The attackers reportedly went directly to the residence of the local APC chairman, Alhaji Audu Fanka Salisu Yahaya. According to a source familiar with the incident, the gunmen forced their way into the house, took Yahaya away and fled the community. The source said the victim was a close associate of the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Ismail Falgore.

The incident has also triggered concern among residents, with several social media posts calling for urgent intervention by security agencies. However, authorities have not yet publicly confirmed the attack, the reported abduction or the number of casualties.

The Beli incident followed another reported attack on Monday night in neighbouring Rantan community in Bebeji Local Government Area. Two people were reportedly killed in that incident, further heightening concerns about the safety of residents in the affected areas.

Earlier on Sunday, suspected bandits reportedly attacked Chiromawa in Garin Malam Local Government Area, where three people were said to have been killed and an elderly man abducted. The abducted man was later reported to have escaped from his captors.

With the incidents spanning three successive days, attention is now turning to the response of security agencies and the need to protect communities facing renewed threats. As of the latest reports, there has been no official statement from the security authorities confirming the circumstances of the attacks or the whereabouts of the abducted APC chairman.
