Ogun autocrash claims Okitipupa teachers, others

A fatal accident along Itele Ijebu on the Lagos- Ijebu Ode highway has claimed many lives yesterday morning.

Those who died in the accident are said to be passengers traveling from Okitipupa, Ondo south senatorial district to Ijebu in Ogun state for a wedding ceremony.
The ashes color picnic involved in the crash were boarded by members of the National Union of Teachers (NUT), the umbrella body of teachers ; the picnic had eight passengers including the driver. As at the time of filing this report, six of the passengers of the ill fated clinic had died while two sustained varying degrees of fatal injury with one in a coma .

The cause of the accident is still sketchy. However, one of the vehicles involved in the accident, the picnic carrying teachers from Okitipupa was said to have left Okitipupa garage at the wee hours of Saturday, the 26th of October.

An indigine of Okitipupa who spoke on the phone with the polity.net said it is a black Saturday in Okitipupa as the accident has thrown the ancient community into mourning. He said among those involved in the accident were serving and retired primary school teachers from Okitipupa Local government.
