Gov Akeredolu plans industrial revolution of Ondo state

– Steve Ovirih.

The Ondo state Governor , Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu has confirmed to skeptics that his silent industrial revolution stride for the sunshine state of Ondo is not a mere election campaign strategy.

The 17th State Executive Ondo state will have, in the person of the Owo born incumbent has been firing from all cylinders since the beginning of his first term in office about three years ago.

Part of his lofty dream for Ondo state is the giant construction work of a flyover bridge going on at Ore in the southern senatorial district of Ondo state. The Governor has said through his commissioner of Information and orientation, Mr Donald Ojogo, on an inspection visit to the flyover site , that barring unforeseen circumstances, the construction of the flyover project will be completed by December.

It will be recalled that Ore, the commercial hub of Ondo state and the connecting route from Lagos to the Eastern part of the country always suffers terrible traffic gridlock during the festive season , particularly as the year draws to an end. Governor Akeredolu has noted that he will want the traffic gridlock which keep travellers locked down on that route to ease off unfailingly this year’ yuletide season.
The Ondo state Governor is equally not resting on his hoarse concerning his bid to attract private investors to Ondo state. He is willing to bring in investors who will harness the obviously abundant human and natural resources the sunshine state is endowed with. Towards this end, Governor Akeredolu has extended partnership invitation to investors in the private sector; for instance , the Monumental Chinese Investment sited at the Ondo /Linyi Industrial Park at Ore is one among so many of such strides. At the Ore industrial park, over four factories are set to be established with a bid to rapidly grow the economic sector of Ondo state.

The Industrial Park which the state Governor’s partnership with the Private business organization in China has facilitated is named after the Industrial Chinese City of Linyi , and the first company springing up at this hub is Well wood Nigeria Limited. Well Wood has no doubt invested heavily in the regeneration of Ondo state forest reserves . Information reaching thepolity.net has it that Well Wood has planted over ten hectares of Gmelina Aboree at the Ondo state afforestation village, Araromi. This economic contribution to the growth of the state will massively increase employment opportunities in the state, no doubt. It is noteworthy that the ODSG cum Well Wood partnership is valued at over #20 billion naira .

The Governor’s business visit to Linyi China to further business talks with Direct Foreign investors has yielded other business establishments such as the win- win textile, the Ethanol plant, the MDF-HDF wood plant, the paper mill Factory among others.

The rate at which construction work has been speeded up at the Ore Flyover site has shown that except the rain reduces work pace, Ondo state will record its first flyover anytime soon.
