Ogun bigwigs join APC.
– Steve Ovirih.
Ogun state All Progressives Congress has benefitted from a strong political realignment that saw two Peoples Democratic party ( PDP) top cadre in the state crossing over to the ruling party. Two of the movers and shakers of Ogun state PDP structure who dumped the party for APC are the former Governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel , Chairman Christal Laurel, and Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole, former Speaker House of Representatives.
The move which has kept mouths wagging in Ogun state has been described as a diplomatic gesture of sounding the death knell on PDP in Ogun state considering the level of support and patronage of the two gladiators.
The duo of Gbenga Daniel and Dimeji Bankole were spotted in Aso Rock on Monday on an official visit to the Presidency to confer with President Muhammadu Buhari in company with the Acting Chairman of the Party and Governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni.
Outcome of their meeting was not made available to the press but their switching over to the APC has continued to keep keen watchers guessing what their political steps could likely be.
