Okitipupa Council boss, Alaka canvasses adequate protection for children.

Parents have been advised to show more concern over the well-being and growth of their children. This advice formed the theme of the speech delivered by the Chairman of Okitipupa local government Council, Hon. Mrs. Morenike Alaka  to mark the 2017 children ‘s Day anniversary.
Mrs Alaka, while drawing global attention to the plight of children which include incessant abduction by unscrupulous elements in the society, rape of minors by debauched and depraved adults, lack of parental commitment, and many more, called on parents and guardian not to see the training of our children as the sole responsibility of teachers, adding that every adult in the society is a stakeholder in the significant role of nurturing a child to maturity.

Mrs. Morenike Alaka complained about the falling standard of education and noted that in due course, the state government is poised to convey an educational summit to chat a way forward on how to improve the standard of primary and post primary education in Ondo state.

Earlier, the Council boss had taken the salute as students of various primary and secondary schools across Okitipupa local government had marched past her podium. She congratulated the students and children generally on this their special day.

The children’s day celebration which was held at the government field Okitipupa had in attendance the Abodi of Ikale, His imperial majesty Oba Gabriel Faduyile, the Director of Administration of Okitipupa local government and other invited guests.

The results of the March past had The Police children school coming first in the primary school category and Ofedepe Comprehensive High school came first in the secondary school category. Both schools were presented with awards.
