Ondo south senatorial district youths promise to work for Akeredolu’s second term bid as Hon Funmi Gbologe hosts them

– Steve Ovirih.

Youths across Ikoya/ Igbisin Oloto ward in Ondo Southern senatorial district have declared allegiance for the second term bid of the incumbent Governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu (SAN). This declaration of support for Governor Akeredolu’s second term in office was the major highlight of a get together organised by Hon. Funmi Alex Gbologe, Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Mobilization, Ondo south. Hon Gbologe is one of the newly appointed political office holders , who himself is a youth actively involved in politics at the grassroots.

At the political gathering in his home town, Ikoya, where the youths were treated to sumptuous reception and entertainment, Hon. Gbologe noted that the government of Ondo state is very particular about youth empowerment and it is poised to ensure that the youths are given their pride of place in his administration. He called on Ondo south youths to embrace the good governance agenda of the Government of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, noting that the people must not repeat the mistake made during the second term bid of Late Dr. Olusegun Agagu in which they were blindsided by petty politics and ignored the lofty agenda of Gov Agagu who then was gradually industrializing Ondo state.

” Governor Akeredolu’s desire for a new Ondo south is evident in his efforts at creating the industrial hub at Ore and there is no way Ore will be industrialised and the spiral effect will not reach us here at Okitipupa, Ilaje, Irele and Ese Odo.

” The Governor has also embarked on opening up our roads here as it is evident in the major construction going on which when completed will link Ilaje to other part of the world. In fact , we really need to appreciate the performing Governor of Ondo state for remembering the youths of this senatorial district in his political appointment drive. This is the first time in the history of our local government that we will have at the helms of affairs a youthful council Chairman who is accessible to all at all times,” Hon Gbologe noted.

He therefore charged the youths to give their whole and unalloyed support to the state government for more development to be attracted to the senatorial district.
Speaking on behalf of the youths , Mr Joshua Akindoyo , National Senate President of the National Association of Ondo state students (NAOS) thanked the SA on Youth Mobilization for feting them. He said the youth of the district felt delighted over his appointment by Governor Akeredolu and they have no doubt that the state Governor has lofty plan for the youth of the southern senatorial district. Akindoyo assured the representative of the Governor of the support of the youths Ondo south.
Earlier in his Goodwill remark at the event, the Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government Area, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya congratulated the convener, Hon Funmi Gbologe for being so thoughtful and committed to carrying the youths of his ward along. He noted that Democracy is all about giving everybody a sense of belonging in the polity. Omo’ba Adesanya charged the youths not to waver in their support for Governor Akeredolu’s second term agenda, which he described as a done deal.

Among the guests at the event were Hon Igbekele Tola, Senatorial Youth Leader APC, Hon. Femi Agbajuni, PRO Okitipupa Local Government Council.
Others are the Oniju of Iju Odo, HRH Oba Festus Olumoyegun, High Chief Rayesomo who represented Abodi in council, the Lisa of Ayeka High Chief Babatunde, the regent of Irele among others.
APC leaders across the zone were also in attendance.
