Regent of Ayeka kingdom mourns Alaafin’s exit.

The Regent of Ayeka kingdom in Okitipupa Local Govt Council, Her Royal Highness, Oluyemi Bajowa has expressed her condolences over the shocking news of the exit to the great beyond of The Alaafin of Oyo , Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi.
The news of the royal father’s passing filtered out early Saturday morning.
In a statement containing her condolence which she personally signed and which was made available to thepolity.net , the Regent said Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was an amiable royal personage , a lover of development and an accommodating Yoruba king who was down to earth and and rich in wisdom and sound knowledge .
The first female Regent in Ikale while recalling one of her several encounter with Oba Adeyemi noted that when she was decorated with the Chieftaincy title of ” Yeye Oge of Ede Land” by The Timi of Ede, Oba Adeyemi took it upon himself regardless of his busy palace schedule to be personally present at the investiture at Ede Land because of his love and respect for The Bajowa household and The Alaafin pronounced her ( the Regent) as his adopted daughter at the event.
The regent said Oba Adeyemi’s love for Yoruba land is unquantifiable and his desire for Yoruba unity was second to none. While noting that Alaafin’s departure to the great beyond happened when the entire Yoruba race still require his counselling and discretionary guidance , she added that the sage lived a good life and in his life time he was a fufiled royal icon whose conduct , carriage , gait and disposition are worthy of emulation.
Princess Barr. Oluyemi Bajowa also commiserated with The Oyo- Mesi for the great and irreparable loss of one of the leading light of Yoruba tradition both in Nigeria and across the globe. She prayed God to give the chiefs the courage to bear the painful reality of Oba Adeyemi’s exit while also praying to God to chose for them an exemplary replacement in the mould of Oba Adeyemi when the time for such comes.
The regent of Ayeka kingdom also prayed to God to grant the soul of oba Lamidi Adeyemi a repose in the hereafter. “May his kind soulĀ rest in perfect peace,” she added.
