Students kick against abduction of LAUTECH final year student

– Tamarauemi Ebimini

Students of Ladole Akintola University (LAUTECH) have kicked against the abduction of a final year student, Rachael Opadele by gunmen.

Opadele of the department of Fine and Applied Arts with matric no 170886 was reportedly abducted in the early hours of Friday in a hotel at Aaba , a community close to the institution.

The Students Union Government (SUG) of the institution charged the Federal and State governments to secure her release without further delay.

They also demanded solution to incessant kidnapping and raping of female students in the institution.

A statement by the union President, Adeboye Anuoluwapo and Secretary, Opaleke Ibrahim, explained Racheal was working at the hotel due to the ASUU strike.

The president said students can no longer walk or move freely, sleep conveniently, travel, or do anything without fear of being abducted or kidnapped, robbed, raped, or maimed within or outside the University Community.
