Tinubu , others to pay #100 Million over APC nominations.

All Progressives Congress, APC, has held its emergency National Executive Council ( NEC) meeting. The meeting which held at the party’s national Secretariat Abuja had in attendance, the President, Muhammadu Buhari, the National Chairman of APC, Senator Abdullai Adamu , all Executive Members of the party and party leaders.
After deliberations and consultation , the NEC of APC agreed at a fixed price of #70 million for nomination form and #30 million for expression of interest for candidates of the party gunning for the Presidency. With this resolution , all the APC Presidential candidates will be shedding #100 million to buy both nomination and expression of interest form in their bid to vie for the Presidency of All Progressives Congress.
APC National Leader , Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was a two term Governor of Lagos State under whose government Prof. Yemi Osinbajo served as Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi, who was two term Rivers State Governor, Dr. Chris Ngige, one time Anambra State Governor and now Minister of Labour and Employment are among those who are to cough a hundred million naira to buy the APC nomination forms.
The nomination form for Governorship candidate will go for #50 million , Senators #20 million, Reps #10 million while female candidates and people living with disabilities (PWDs) will get their own forms for free.
At the well attended meeting, President Muhammadu Buhari urged the party chieftains not to allow the imposition of candidates across the elective offices in the land , stressing that APC cannot afford either to impose candidate or allow the emergence of an unpopular candidate whose candidature will not only demarket the party but make them lose out at the polls.
All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Senator Abdullai Adamu said the APC must avoid banana peels and pitfalls that can make the party to go the self destruct path of PDP . The Nasarawa former Governor and until recently a Senator of The Federal Republic said All Progressives Congress will conduct the party primaries in a way that will entrench and further deepen Democratic ethos in Nigeria , adding that APC primaries shall be a model for the other parties.
In their separate reactions, Senate President, Dr. Hammed Lawan and Speaker , House of Representatives , Rt. Hon . Femi Gbajabiamila asked for automatic tickets for returning members of The National Assembly, harping on the doctrine of the right of first refusal for NASS members.
Senator Adamu however charged ex Givernors of the APC states to accord sitting Governors the role of party leaders and to make sure that there is cohesion to avoid wranglings that can affect the fortune of the party in the APC states.
APC has however agreed on Indirect primaries as opposed to the rumours of Concensus to elect the APC Presidential candidates.
The party primaries will come up in May according to the party Secretariat .
