Yoruba Council Worldwide has allegedly berated the former Deputy National Chairman, of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, for throwing his weight behind the Labour Party governorship candidate for Lagos State, Mr Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
By his endorsement of Rhodes-Vivour, George, the leader of the PDP in Lagos state has finally divorced himself from Dr. Olajide Adediran (Jandor), who is the PDP gubernatorial candidate in tomorrow’s election.
President of the Council, Aare Oba Oladotun Hassan, who expressed disappointment over the endorsement, Friday in Abuja, described the move as a comical charade taken too far.
His word: “We are aghast beyond comprehension to see a group of elders regrouping under another organization – Omo Eko Pataki, endorsing the Lagos Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate, Chinedu Patrick Rhodes Vivour.
“We are proud to state unequivocally that the Igbos in Lagos are more humane, friendly and wiser to vote for the APC continuity in Lagos State. The Ohaneze Ndigbo leaders, non-indigenous groups, youths, students, market women and stakeholders of the various markets have all spoken unequivocally.
“We reiterate with all sense of decorum that Lagosians have to decide and resolved to massively re-elect and vote for Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for second term as the Executive Governor of Lagos State alongside all APC House of Assembly candidates in Lagos State.
“We appeal and implore all Lagosian to vote for a greater Lagos, accelerated economic growth, aesthetic infrastructural development, uncommon health care delivery, succinct education sector, youth and women empowerment to mention a few”, he stated.
