A 49-year-old woman, Mrs Idowu Victoria, has reportedly committed suicide in Ogun State.

She was said to have hanged herself on the ceiling fan inside her room in the Magboro area of the state.

Police spokesperson in the state, Omolola Odutola, said the case was reported to the Ibafo Divisional Police Officer on Sunday by her son, Idowu Qudus, of Gan-un town of Magboro.

“The divisional police officer immediately drafted men to the scene. No suicide note was found, and photographs were taken,” Odutola said.

She said the Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, advised families to seek experts’ help for relatives or loved ones who need emotional support.

Odutola described suicide as unlawful, saying “sufferers of mental health need more support from family members to prevent fatality.”
