Meet immediate past Commandant , Nigerian Army School of Finance Administration, Brig’ Gen. Felix Ohunyeye.

Brigadier General Olamide Felix Ohunyeye, a decorated veteran and a member of the 39th Regular Combatant Course assumed duty as the 50th Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Finance & Administration (NASFA) on 16th February, 2021 after serving in different units and formations.

He is a well bred native of Ondo State.

General Ohunyeye graduated from the Nigerian Defence Academy – BSc (Hons) and received his commission as a Second Lieutenant into the Nigerian Army as a member of the 39th Regular Combatant Course on 12th September, 1992. He has had multiple command and staff positions in many divisions and Special Forces throughout the last 29 years.

He has served in command and leadership positions in the course of his military profession, amongst which include being a Staff Officer at the Headquarters Command Finance Office (1992), a Finance Officer at 33 Field Artillery Brigade Bauchi (1994), a pioneer Finance Officer at the Post Service Housing Directorate Army (1996), a Bursar at the Coad Secondary School Ibadan, a Cashier at the Headquarters 3 Armoured Division, Jos, a Contingent Finance Officer at the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone (2003), a Deputy Director of Finance at the Army Headquarters Department of Operations, Abuja (2004), Cashier at Command Finance Office, Lagos (2005 – 2006), Assistant Director Finance at Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji (2007 – 2008) , Deputy Director at Army Accounts Inspectorate, Ojo (2009 – 2010), Deputy Director Finance & Accounts of Headquarters Nigerian Army Finance Corps, Apapa (2010 – 2013), Commander Division Finance and Accounts (CDFA) at Headquarters 82 Division, Enugu (2015 – 2016), Director, Finance and Accounts at National Defence College, Abuja (2016 – 2019), Commander, Garrison Finance and Accounts at AHQ Garrison, Abuja (2019 – 2020), Director of Finance at Nigerian Defence Academy, Abuja (2020 – 2021) and the Commandant at the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration, Apapa (2021 till his retirement meritoriously from the Army.

General Ohunyeye’s education includes a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Economics from the Nigerian Defence Academy, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Applied Accounting at Oxford Brookes University, London, a Masters in Strategy and Defence Studies (MSDS) from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi and a Doctorate Degree (Ph.D) in Management from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

He is a Member and Fellow of varying professional bodies which include; Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), London (Fellow), Nigerian Institute of Management (Fellow), Institute of Directors (Fellow), Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (Fellow) Institute of Directors Nigeria – MIoD (Member), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria – ACIT (Member) and Institute of Cost Management of Nigeria – AICM (Member). General Ohunyeye has attended several workshops/seminars at several prestigious schools.

He has attended different Military Courses which include the Young Officers Course (Finance) at the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration Apapa Lagos; Young Officers Course (Infantry) at the Infantry Centre and School Jaji Nigeria; Cashiers Course at the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration Apapa Lagos; Computer Appreciation Course at the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration, Apapa, Lagos; Junior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Nigeria; Senior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji; Commander Division Finance and Accounts Course at the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration, Apapa, Lagos and the National Defence Course, Bangladesh.

He has some decorations and awards to his credit, amongst which are: The Forces Service Star (FSS),The Meritorious Service Star (MSS), The Distinguished Service Star (DSS) and the United Nation’s Medals: Numeros 1 and 2.

His hobbies include Reading, Playing Squash Racket Game, Playing Lawn Tennis and Surfing the Web. General Ohunyeye and his wife are happily married with children.

Not quite long after Gen. Ohunyeye’s bowing out of the military service , he has retired home to Ondo State to offer himself for service for the interest of humanity as he joins the race to become the Governor of Ondo State.
