PDP govs meet in Abuja over hardship

Tamarauemi Ebimini

Amidst the prevailing hardship in the country, governors elected on the platform of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently meeting in Abuja to discuss the state of the nation.

Among those at the the Oyo State Governors’ lodge in Asokoro where the meeting is taking place are the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara) and Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau).

Others are Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ossai, and Deputy Governor of Delta State, Monday John Onyeme.

The governors will look at the situation of the country with a view to offering advice to the Federal Government.

Daily Trust gathered that the governors will also look at the insecurity and the situation of the party in Edo State ahead of the next governorship election in the state.

There have been protests in some states across the country over the prevailing hardship with government recently ordering the release of grains to cushion the effect.

Meanwhile in Edo, there is serious controversy and uncertainty concerning the party’s preparations towards the Edo governorship election with nine of the 10 governorship aspirants threatening to approach the court over the handling of the process.
