Gov House Meltdown, Aiyedatiwa’s aide BLASTS commissioners in sabotage storm
‘They’re strangling our media team’  ‘We’re suffering in silence

A political storm is brewing inside Ondo Government House as a top aide to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has publicly accused two powerful commissioners of sabotage in a bitter internal showdown.

The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Multimedia, Taiwo Gbamila, has taken aim at the Commissioners for Works and Finance, accusing them of deliberately frustrating the governor’s media machine and embarrassing the administration.

“THIS IS SABOTAGE”

Gbamila’s outburst followed a heated APC stakeholders’ meeting in Akure, where Works Commissioner Abiola Olawoye allegedly lashed out at the governor’s media aides, accusing them of failing to publicise ongoing projects.

But Gbamila wasn’t having it.

In a nearly 13-minute video now going viral, he slammed Olawoye’s comments as “divisive, inappropriate and dangerous”, warning they could ignite a full-blown crisis within the government.

A meeting meant to discuss development was turned into a public attack on officials working directly for the governor,  Gbamila fumed.

“WE’RE BEING SET UP TO FAIL”

The media aide insisted the governor’s communication team has been working under pressure, with little support and limited funds, yet still delivering.

When we attack ourselves in public, we hand ammunition to critics and weaken this government, he said.

Gbamila went further, reviving old wounds, alleging that both commissioners previously teamed up to block funds already approved for media operations.

NINE MONTHS, NO MONEY?

In a stunning claim, he accused the Finance Commissioner, Wunmi Isaac, of withholding running costs and grants for the media unit for nine months.

We are suffering in silence,” he said bluntly.
“You withhold the funds, then turn around to blame us.

He questioned how the media team could sell the governor’s achievements when the very funds meant for media engagement were allegedly locked away.

PRAISE FOR CPS

Despite the tension, Gbamila praised the Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, revealing he has allegedly been using personal influence and external support to keep the media unit alive.

COMMISSIONER FIRES BACK

Responding to the drama, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure told Polity.net that Governor Aiyedatiwa has stepped in and the matter has now been resolved.

He also addressed criticism over the Igbokoda–Okitipupa dualisation project, insisting delays were due to technical challenges, including the relocation of high-tension electric poles.

Construction involves many processes people don’t see,” he said.

For now, the governor may have calmed the waters — but behind the scenes, Ondo politics is boiling.
