A group representing Chinese mining companies in Nigeria has strongly denied recent media reports. The reports had accused Chinese firms of illegal mining, harming the environment, and having links to terrorist activities.

The China Mining Federation of Nigeria called these claims false and misleading. It stated that Chinese companies follow Nigerian laws and have even been victims of terrorist attacks themselves, not supporters.

The federation outlined the companies’ contributions, including building local processing plants and creating jobs for Nigerians. It emphasized these actions support Nigeria’s own goals for industrial growth and development.

It also highlighted community and environmental projects undertaken by the firms. The group said these efforts show a commitment to responsible operations and a strong partnership between the two nations.

The statement warned that spreading false information could damage the important relationship between Nigeria and China. It urged media and the public to report on the issue fairly.

The federation reaffirmed its commitment to working with Nigerian authorities. It aims to ensure mining sector cooperation continues to provide mutual benefits for both countries.
