The United States Department of War (DOW) has invaded Nigeria. The US says it feels obliged to enter the Nigerian territorial space and aim at scattering terrorists threatening the nation’s territorial integrity with their non stop fatal internal aggression.

Some people have argued that the US invasion has questioned the sovereignty of Nigeria since sovereignty stipulates the overwhelming right of an independent state to govern without external influence.

There has been argument forth and back on this issue of sovereignty. Some school of thought have argued that the attack on Nigeria soil by US has simply shown the weakness of Nigeria as a country that watched on haplessly and helplessly as terrorists seized a portion of Nigeria.

While others have argued that if a government feels weak, such can allow collaboration of a global super power in helping to end threat to territorial integrity. The question to be asked is what was government doing before the threat by the terrorists escalated to this extent?
