Nigerian Group in Diaspora elects new Exco members as Femi Ayetiran emerges Chairman

 

The  Ikale Heritage Association UK/Ireland has elected Pastor Olufemi Ayetiran as its new Chairman following a duly conducted election held during the association’s general meeting.

 

 

The election marked the conclusion of the tenure of the outgoing executive team led by Mrs Kemi Atijosan, whose administration was widely commended for its achievements and commitment to the growth and development of the association.

 

Members praised Atijosan’s leadership, noting that she dedicated over eight years of service to the association and played a significant role in advancing its objectives, strengthening unity among members, and promoting the welfare of the Ikale community in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

 

Report has it that the meeting commenced at 2:00 p.m., with members participating both physically and virtually. In line with the provisions of the association’s constitution; all candidates contesting elective positions were required to be physically present at the venue or, in the case of members residing outside London, they are required to be visibly present online.

Voting was conducted through a show of hands by members attending both physically and virtually. All votes were counted and recorded accordingly, while nominations made during the meeting were duly accepted and processed as part of the electoral proceedings.

 

Following the completion of the election process and the observance of constitutional requirements, the following officers emerged to serve in the new executive team:

Chairman – Pastor Olufemi Ayetiran

Vice Chairman – Mrs Abike Akinrinaye

General Secretary – Mr Patrick Adesanoye

Assistant General Secretary – Taiwo Olugbeko

Financial Secretary – Mr Rotimi Osowe

Treasurer – Mrs Iyabo Aremola

Publicity Secretary – Temidayo Awotula

Social Welfare Officer – Omoniyi Awotale

Social Welfare Officer – Omopariola Olanrewaju

Chief Whip – Prince Adedeji Ayetiran

Ex-Officio – Sunny Awotula

 

The association expressed profound appreciation to the outgoing executive members, including the Chairperson, her deputies, and all officers, for their dedication, sacrifices, and leadership during their tenure. Members acknowledged that their collective efforts contributed significantly to the stability, progress, and continued success of the association.

 

Former leaders and senior members present at the meeting offered words of encouragement and support to the newly elected executives, urging them to build on the achievements of previous administrations and continue to promote the interests of the association.

The association congratulated the new executive team and wished them a successful tenure. Members were also assured that further information on upcoming programmes, activities, and initiatives would be communicated in due course.
