LONDON – After 60 years of walking hand in hand through seasons of joy and trial, Crown Prince Lawrence Anifalaje and his wife, Olori Victoria, have attributed the longevity of their marriage to the guidance and faithfulness of God.
The couple marked their 60th wedding anniversary with a thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Newlife Assembly, Hendon, London, where their children, relatives, friends and church members gathered to celebrate with them.
Crown Prince Lawrence, a native of Ibokun in Ijesha land, Osun State, said the journey had not been without its challenges, noting that every marriage has its highs and lows. According to him, it was God’s steady hand that carried the union through the difficult seasons and made it endure.
“I am grateful to God for His faithfulness,” he told The Polity News, describing his wife as a precious gift and a priceless treasure whose love, care and unwavering support had enriched every chapter of his life. He said he was grateful that he had made the right choice of a life partner, calling his marriage evidence of God’s favour. Citing the biblical declaration, he added that whoever finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord.

In his exhortation, the minister in charge of the parish urged the congregation to cultivate a lifestyle of thanksgiving, stressing the need to acknowledge God’s faithfulness in every season of life. He also advised young couples to remain committed to their relationships, draw closer to God and build their marriages on enduring spiritual values.
Olori Victoria, in her own remarks, counselled young couples to uphold the fear of God, respect one another and stay committed to the success of their marriages. She expressed confidence that couples who embrace these values, especially when storms arise, would be better positioned to build lasting and fulfilling relationships.
The marriage is blessed with five children: Aremo Adetoyese Anifalaje, Omoba Adewale Anifalaje, Omoba Adesola Anifalaje, Princess Adedolake Del-Davidson and Omoba Adebusoye Anifalaje.
The celebration continued with a reception at Lara kitchen, where family members, friends, church members and associates gathered to honour the couple. Among those present were old students of Ibadan Grammar School, Ibadan, alongside relatives and other well-wishers.
The anniversary served as a reminder that while marriage may come with its share of ups and downs, faith, mutual respect, companionship and divine guidance remain the anchor that sustains a union through the decades.
