Abodi of Ikale hails OAUSTECH VC, Ologunorisa, at 60
The Abodi of Ikale Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba George Babatunde Faduyile, has congratulated the Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Professor Temi Emmanuel Ologunorisa, on his 60th birthday, praising him for turning the institution around.
Oba Faduyile spoke as chairman of the occasion, which took place at the university auditorium. He thanked the traditional rulers, dignitaries and other guests who attended.
The monarch described 60 years as a significant milestone in human endeavour, equal to three scores. He said Professor Ologunorisa had worked hard to rise to the rank of a university don.
Recalling the Vice-Chancellor’s early days in office, Oba Faduyile said Ologunorisa visited his palace shortly after assuming duty and discussed some of the challenges facing the university. “Today, he has turned the institution around for good,” the monarch said.
He added that the Vice-Chancellor had taken the university to greater heights, and commended the staff and students for their contributions to the progress recorded.
The Abodi also prayed for the celebrant, predicting that he would live to see six scores approximately 120 years, and expressing confidence that the prophecy would come to pass. “My predictions always come to reality,” he said. He further prayed that Ologunorisa would enjoy the fruit of his labour in good health, and that his family would long enjoy him.
