Ondo state former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) has emerged as the Ondo State Peoples Democratic party guber candidate.

He recorded the highest votes cast in a keenly competed primary where he led the other contestants with 888 votes. Ondo Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi who defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Ondo state came second with 657 votes. Former National Vice Chairman of PDP in the South West, Chief Eddy Olafeso came third with 175 votes. Hon. Ayorinde, former member, House of Representatives and founder Achiever University of Owo coasted 95 votes, while Hon. Banji Okunomo came fourth with 90 votes.

Other contestants at the poll were Hon. Goddy Erewa – 14 votes, Hon . Ebiseni Sola- 29 votes and Senator Bolu Kunlere 33 votes. 114 votes were invalid.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwanyi of Enugu State declared Eyitayo Jegede as the winner of the poll and congratulated all the contestants for putting up a sport man’ attitude, stressing that the best candidate among the contestants had emerged in the context.

As at the time of filing in this report, reaction of party stakeholders could not be taken as majority of the party men were in exciting mood after the result was announced
