Gen. Olu Bajowa (RTD), the Jagunmolu of Ikale Land and Ojagbulegun of the Source has offered a special balm to cushion the pains of the loss of the Okitipupa Local Government Secretariat to hoodlums who set the council on fire late last week under the pretext of the now unfortunate “EndSARS Protest.”

Gen. Bajowa in a release made available to the press said he felt pained and saddened at the level of wanton destruction of both government and private property, establishments and monuments of Ikale heritage in Okitipupa Local Government Area, describing those who indulged in the
orgy of violence and despoilation as devilish and anti – progressive elements.

“I share the feelings during this trying period, of all our Royal fathers and the entire people of Ikale Land at home and in The Diaspora for these dastardly and condemnable actions perpetrated by dregs and enemies of the society.

“As a Prince and one of the opinion leaders in the community, I pledge my continued support and commitment in totality to assist the community and government in the rehabilitation of the destroyed property,” Gen. Bajowa said.

Thus in a show of rare magnanimity and passion for community development , the retired Army top brass , on behalf of himself and his wife, the Regent of Ayeka Kingdom, has offered ” the Iye Lumure House” at 49, Erinje Road Okitipupa and the huge sum of five million Naira for the immediate take – off of the Council. The General also said, ” the Ikale Summit will be setting up Ikale Trust Fund to which all patriotic sons and daughters of Ikale both home and in The Diaspora will be encouraged to make their individual contributions for the noble cause of rebuilding the Secretariat of the ancient Okitipupa Local Government Council.”

Continuing, Gen. Bajowa said, ” however, I implore our Royal fathers and all Ikale sons and daughters not to be deterred or discouraged in their support for the development of our motherland , but to please accept this unfortunate setback as a Clarion call for unity among all stakeholders because with unity, the administration of Okitipupa Local Government will bounce back to light again, in fulfilment of the adage that ‘ Ile Oba to jo, ewa lo bu si.”

With this generous donation by Gen. Bajowa, the administration of Okitipupa Local Government takes effect at Iye Lumure House while action plan on the rebuilding of the Secretariat begins in earnest.
