Ondo Govt will continue to prioritize Universal Health Coverage – Faduyile .

Ondo State Government has commended the satisfactory performance of the state contributory Health Commission (ODCHC) in its strive to achieve Universal Health Coverage in Ondo State.

Giving this commendation was The Special Adviser on Health to Ondo State Governor, Prof. Dayo Faduyile while hosting members of the management of the State Contributory Health Commission in his office.

Earlier in his speech, the Director General of the Contributory Health Commission , Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyin had said the commission was established to provide health insurance for all the residents of Ondo State, adding that the bill establishing the commission was signed into law in 2018 while full operations by the commission started in June, 2019.

Dr. Oyeneyin noted that since the commission had begun full swing operations, over 20,000 residents of Ondo State have benefited from the basic health care provision fund in the various primary health care centers across the 203 wards in the state. He added that the robust advocacy of the commission had reached out to various category of people of Ondo State.

While praising Gov. Akeredolu for approving the construction of the building that will serve as the permanent office of the commission , which construction is ongoing along Ignatoro road in Akure, Dr. Oyeneyin noted that the deployment of technology has added to the quality and efficiency of services of the commission.

Prof. Faduyile charged the commission to embark on more advocacy drive on its various schemes and ensure its operations cover more beneficiaries across Ondo State, adding that the commission should go all out to identify causes of maternal mortality in Ondo State and how to mitigate its occurrences.

The Special Adviser on Health to Ondo State Governior called for stronger collaborations between his office and the Commission towards achieving efficient and quality service delivery.

Prof. Faduyile assured that Ondo State Government will continue to make the health and well being of the residents of the state a top priority.
