Osun APC Primary holds Feb 19.

– Steve Ovirih.

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, barring unforeseen circumstances, will hold its Governorship primary election on the 19th February , 2022. The State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola will be contesting in the primary election.

Prior to the release of the February 19th day for the APC primary, notice of election had earlier been released on the 17th of November, 2021, while sales of forms had begun on the 18th of November , 2021. Screening of appeals will hold on the 15th of February , while the process will terminate on Tuesday , the 22nd of February with the hearing of the election appeal.

In a statement signed by the National Secretary Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee ( CECPC), Sen. James Akpanudohedehe ( PHD.), and made available to the press, the date fixed for the primary is sacrosant and nothing will change it as fixed as a lot of deliberations went into fixing the date.

Meanwhile , in Osun State, serious crisis of confidence is brewing between the camp of Gov. Gboyega Oyetola and his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who ruled the state for two consecutive terms. A caucus within the Osun APC , The Osun Progressives(TOP), who are loyal to the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola are not disposed to the return of the incumbent Governor for a second term and are mooting the idea of presenting another candidate to battle Gboyega Oyetola at the Osun APC Primary election.
