2023: Obasanjo counsels Nigerians to chose right.

– Steve Ovirih.

Former President of Nigeria , Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has urged Nigerians not to miss the opportunity that the 2023 General election will offer them to chose right.

The Retired Army General and two term President of Nigeria gave this charge while speaking at an International symposium organised as part of the activities to mark his 85th birthday celebration.
The elder state man noted with a sense of regret that if the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) and Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission ( ICPC) know their beats with detailed efficiency, some of those clamouring to be President of Nigeria in the 2023 General election should be cooling their feet in jail by now, noting that a lot of rot is staring the nation in the face.

Obasanjo remarked that the time has come for Nigerians to learn from the events of the past and put sentiments aside for them to choose sincerely the pan- Nigerian choice of a President next year. He stressed that all efforts must be made to ensure Nigeria does not disintegrate or fragment as the signs are obvious on the wall that any slight mismanagement of the public sentiment can fracture the already weak structure of Nigeria.

Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo made it clear that Nigerians should open their eyes and should be bold to tell off any candidate who does not have integrity and the charisma and sincerity of a leader who will have the love of Nigerians at heart.

He added that becoming Nigerian President should not be seen as a Trophy to be won or as a plaque to be kept on the shelf , stressing that Nigeria deserves a very charismatic leader with the zeal, zest, ability, strength and the presence of mind required to lead the most populous black nation of the world.
