Govt not ready to combat insurgency – Bitrus Pogu.

A Middle Belt Chieftain and Zoning Activist, Dr. Bitrus Pogu has knocked the Federal Government over its lack of political will to combat growing insurgency in Nigeria .

Pogu while reacting to government’s avowed preparedness for the 2023 Census which is billed to gulp billions of Naira noted that Federal Government is misplacing priority. He noted that while the Buhari regime promised to combat Boko Haram and other insurgency in six months, the menace of insurgency has not only overwhelmed his government but has eventually run rings round a major part of the North East and threatening to spread their evil ring around the entire Northern part of the country.

While condoling the families of the victims of the rail track bombing by bandits, Dr. Pogu said the attack on the Abuja/ Kaduna rail line confirms the failure of government to tackle insecurity , adding that the fear is rife more than ever before that government seems to have lost grip on security.

He advised federal government to wake up from its slumber and rethink measures and policies that will liberate the people from the setback that threat to insecurity has put them , noting that farming activities in Borno state has fallen into doldrums because Fulani herders’ pastime now is to sack people’s farms and herd their cattle through planted crops while nobody dare ask them questions because, the herders , the bandits, the insurgents and criminal kidnappers have all become Lords and Masters that residents can only disobey at their own peril.
