The Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency (BASEPA) has given a 7-day ultimatum to political parties to remove all campaign billboards and signboards that bear political inscription across the state.
The Director General of the agency, Dr Ibrahim Kabiru, issued the ultimatum while briefing journalists yesterday.
He urged political parties to ensure that the campaign materials within the state capital and across the 20 local government areas were removed.
He warned that the agency would dispose of all the billboards after the seven-day grace.
He said, “With the elections over, the next thing now is governance. We want the entire space to look neat and serene.
“After this one week, Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency will consider all these materials as waste, and everyone knows that we have a mandate to evacuate waste wherever it is, and we are going to act. All the parties – PDP, APC, NNPP and others – are to take note.”
