Billionaire Gold Merchant, Bamidele Omosehin celebrates birthday, advises govt on security

– Steve Ovirih

International Business man of repute and Chairman , CEO of NVX International Limited, a global jewelry consulting and marketing power house, Mr. Bamidele Omosehin celebrates birthday on February 14.

The philanthropist per excellence and founder of Bamidele Omosehin Foundation (BOF), a socialite with milk of human kindness in his veins would have loved to celebrate in a very big form in a high octane event that would have been a gathering of Captains of industry, big time politicians and stakeholders in the polity but for the prevailing COVID- 19 phenomenon that is still ravaging the globe. As a result of this, the owner and Chief Executive of Bamidele Omosehin Properties Ltd will be observing his birthday celebration strictly on a low key with only the members of his nuclear family in his home in London, United Kingdom.
Bamidele Omosehin no doubt means different things to different people but the consensus of opinion about him among his Ikale people of Ondo South Senatorial District is that he is a down to heart personality with a genuine concern for the uplifting of the downtrodden from their impoverished condition. Not the type who requires heavy protocols before you can gain access to as his Iju Odo home is a Mecca of sort anytime he is in Nigeria. Omosehin doesn’t discriminate neither does he wear the air of overt pride which distance the hoi polloi from folks in his nouveau riche bracket. Yet, he is evidently a man of means who through enterprise and dint of hardworking had worked the rungs to become a prominent jewelry consultant of international acclaim.
Speaking with thepolity.net on arrangement for his birthday in an exclusive chat, the Iju Odo born business tycoon said for now the idea of a big birthday celebration is out of the way. ” We are all aware of the Coronavirus pandemic challenge across the globe , so for me there won’t be a birthday bash as expected. In fact, I will only be at home ( he is right away in his London home) and just thank God for counting me worthy to be among the living soul. My wife and my children will just mark it on low key in my house,” Dele Omosehin said.

As for him, February 14th is not all about love but more of grace and of course God’s divine mercy and protection . ” When it’s February 14 every year, people are excited celebrating St. Valentine. But Feb 14th is also about me,” he said excitedly. ” I am a personage whose life has been all about God’s amazing grace and compassion. As a Nigerian and a business man, I have seen it all but His grace has been immesurable over my life and my family. That’s is the more reason I always crave to impact the lives of those who are in the economic disadvantage bracket because I know and understand clearly what it means to lack and not to have at all.

” My heart is always with them: children of indigent parents, who have the brains but lack the financial wherewithal to pursue academics without hitches, widows who have children to cater for but do not have the means to provide for their children, young men who have certificates but do not have jobs and could not make both ends meet. I love to identify with them because I have been there and I know exactly how it feels. That’s the major reason Bamidele Omosehin Foundation is established and by the grace of God the Foundation has mapped out specific mandates which it shall achieve and which shall impact positively on the masses, particularly in the Southern senatorial district of Ondo State,” the birthday boy enthused.

Omosehin Foundation, Bamidele said , will provide fund assist for indigent students who want to write WAEC exams and those who wish to write JAMB’s UTME, noting that preparation has reached advance stage for BOF to roll out the disbursement of the fund for the young ones who will write both exams this year. He added that by April during the Easter celebration a special palliative disbursement will be done for the needy.

Asked about his opinion on the security challenge in Nigeria at the moment, the ‘birthday boy ‘ sighed and said, ” we all need to pray for the continued existence of Nigeria as an indivisible entity. Forces that are not comfortable with the cohesiveness of the Nigerian state are working round the clock to penetrate with divisive agenda that could instigate another civil war in Nigeria. But God is a Nigerian, I am very positive about the continued existence of the Nigerian state.

” All hands need to be on deck. The Federal Government is sure not resting on its oars and we must all support the aspirations of this government to end the threat in our socio political landscape. My advice to government is that they should ensure the security structure of the country work together and share intelligence so that the war against insurgency which the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari is working assiduously to win is won on a platter of collective commitment,” Dele Omosehin added.
