Ejo Ayeka: Regent Oluyemi Bajowa organizes free medical outreach.

In her bid to give back to her root and in her characteristic display of magnanimity , the Regent of Ayeka Kingdom, Princess Barr. Oluyemi Bajowa has organised a broad based free medical outreach for her subjects at Ayeka Kingdom and People who are residents in the community.

The free medical outreach is a special feature of the Ejo festival 2020 beyond the fanfare and celebration of the traditionally significant and culturally rich festivity.

The provision of the free medical service held on Sunday, the 8th November at the palace of the Lumure of Ayeka Kingdom in the heart of Ayeka. As at ten o’clock in the morning, people had started trickling in to see the medical personnel and nurses who were on ground to among other things examine their blood pressure (BP), carry out diagnostic tests to ascertain the manner of their health challenges and provide them adequate supply of drugs based on their respective health condition.

A special feature of the outreach was the clinical eye care check on people with sight challenge , majority of who are in their advanced age in life.

In an exclusive media chat with the polity.net at the palace of the Lumure of Ayeka, Regent Oluyemi Bajowa has this to say: ” the medical outreach is borne out of a genuine concern for the welfare of my people; a healthy community is a wealthy community. So , I felt beyond the culture and tradition of celebrating Ejo festival, we can also do something in the area of seeing to the health of members of the community. Towards this end, aside diagnostic tests and provision of drugs, I have made provision for a hundred pieces of recommended eye glasses for people with sight challenge and Doctors are on ground to carry out eye tests before issuing these glasses and drugs.”

The Regent said she is more fulfilled when her people enjoy robust good health , stressing that it is better to give free medical outreach because “health is wealth.”

The Lisa of Ayeka, High Chief Babatunde Ayeyowa noted in his chat with thepolity.net that the reign of Regent Oluyemi Bajowa has made Ayeka to evolve as a trail blazer in so many areas of community development, adding that Ayeka has imbued this year’s Ejo celebration with free medical outreach and it is the first of its kind. High Chief Ayeyowa indicated that this is a tip of the iceberg as more of this development are in the offing.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with the press : Chief Banjo Ayelomi, the Luwoye of Ayeka , Primate Ebenezer Osowe , Madam Comfort Egbayelo and Pa Akinbo Enikonosebi in a consensus opinion expressed their delight at the thoughtful project by the Regent of Ayeka and showed their gratitude in words of prayer that God will continue to provide her with good health and prosperity.

The Head of the medical team, Dr. Ebun Ogunbiyi said the turn out though was not much in the morning, he adduced the reason to the fact that the community is a predominantly Christian community and more people will still show up after church service. ” So far so good, the patients that have shown up have been attended to and all of them are benefitting from the drug supplies while those with eye defects will be going home with eye glasses,” Dr. Ogunbiyi added.
