Faduyile to Chief of Air Staff: accept my condolences

The Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Prof.Dayo Faduyile OON has expressed his profound sadness to The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke over the death of Air Force Personnel who were on board Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft (NGR 931) that crashed at Igbokoda, headquarters of Ilaje Local Government on Monday, 5th October,2026.
Newsmen report that in the Igbokoda air crash 25 passengers and 7 crew members lost their lives as the aircraft crashed into a swamp opposite the Forward Operating Base (FOB) of The Nigerian Navy Command, Igbokoda.
In the official letter of Condolence personally endorsed by the Ondo South Senator which was presented at the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters, Abuja, Senator Faduyile noted that the crash and its subsequent fatalities were a monumental loss to the Nigerian Air Force and the nation at large. “The news of the loss of 25 passengers and 7 crew members who were on a routine national assignment from Benin to Lagos was not only heartbreaking but a monumental loss to the Nigerian Air Force and the nation at large.”
He said the entire Ondo South is in mourning over the sad occurrence while stressing that he has been in touch with the traditional institution, the Chairman of Ilaje Local Government,Hon. Maurice Oripenaye and community leaders in Igbokoda.
“We salute the courage, patriotism and selfless service of the the fallen heroes and crew who paid the supreme price in service to fatherland and rest assured their sacrifice will never be forgotten,” Senator Faduyile noted.
The Ondo South Senator prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and for Almighty God to grant their families, Nigerian Air Force and the entire Nigerian Armed Forces the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of the gallant officers.
