President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria , His Excellency , Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the conferment of The National Honor in the rank of Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON, on Professor Francis Adedayo Faduyile.
In a letter from the Office of the Honorable Minister of Special Duties and Inter Governmental Affairs , Senator George Akume, dated 19th September, 2022, and personally signed by the Minister, the notice of the conferment of The National Honors was indicated and transmitted to Prof. Dayo Faduyile.
The statement added that the investiture ceremony for Prof Faduyile and other recipients of the prestigious national honors is scheduled to take place at The International Conference Center, ICC, Abuja on Tuesday, 11th October, 2022 at 9 : 00am.
While congratulating Prof. Faduyile on the honor, the Minister of Special Duties noted that the award is in recognition of the recipient’s laudable contribution to national development.
Prof Dayo Faduyile, it will be recalled was the National President of the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, between 2018 and 2020; his tenure coincided with the period the pandemic, Coronavirus ( COVID 19) seized the world by the jugular with its attendant consequences on the Nigerian national psyche .
The commendable effort of the Dayo Faduyile led leadership of NMA at the trying period , which tasked and stretched the health sector and its facilities beyond limits, the public enlightenment drive on COVID 19 challenge and prevention championed by the Professor of Forensic Pathology, Dayo Faduyile and his impact on Doctors/ Government mutual labour relationship has remained part of his commendable stride at the helms of affairs of the NMA leadership.
Prof. Faduyile , crown Prince of Abodi of Ikaleland, Oba George Babatunde Faduyile, was appointed Special Adviser ( SA) on Health Matters to Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu immediately after his national tour of duty as the President, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA).
